About Us

Welcome to  Manfield Crafts

Hello.  My name is Emma.  My Mum taught me to knit when I was five and I have been knitting ever since.  After finishing my degree in textile design I was fortunate enough to work in the design industry for ten years in London.  After leaving London and having babies I found it really difficult to find a local, good quality knitting shop so I decided to open one myself.

Since opening in 2007 I have stocked the shop with a beautiful selection of knitting yarn, patterns and accessories and have run workshops and tutorials but my proudest achievement has been my knitting groups.  Every Friday morning and Saturday afternoon the shop is packed with the most lovely knitters, chatting, knitting, drinking tea and eating biscuits and if the whether is fine we are in the garden.

Recently the competition from large on line companies have made it  hard to compete.  As of 2016 I will be open for all my knitting groups and I will be running workshops and lessons.  I will also stock a large range of the Knit Pro needles and accessories, my own kits and a limited range of yarns.  I am always happy to order yarn in for you.

My family and I live above the shop with my beautiful doggies Purl and Pixie.  So please come and visit …. the kettle is always on.

Hi, my name is Alison and last year at fibre east I bought a kit from you, it is for a crotchet bag in lovely seaside stripes. Well I am not very good at crotchet so I had the instructions out and practiced doing the circles. Well now I feel ready to start but can I find the instructions!! It is made in creative cotton, can you help !!
By the way this is the first time that I have looked at your web-site, it is lovely and your shop looks extremely inviting. We are hoping to get to fibre east again and will look you up there if you are going again. I am also going to give some serious consideration to finding an excuse to visit Rushden and your shop. Am hoping you can help me, I am so stupid!!

    Best wishes, Alison

      Hi Alison
Thank you for getting in touch. I’ll email you a copy of the pattern. I’ve just had all my exhibitors information from Fibre East through the post and I am really excited to go. We’ve had our designing heads on this year and we have a whole stand full of new designs and kits. If you do ever come over to Rushden then please do pop it. There’s always tea and biscuits. x

Oooo I’ve just found you while searching for Christmas gifts. Do you have much wool in stock? I’m looking for something that has a bit of sparkle for a secret Santa gift. Thank you.

We have lots of Christmas kits in stock but nothing really sparkley.
If you are local we’d love to see you or please give me a call 01933 314920 and we can sort something out.

Do you have chunky wool to go with 12mm needles? if so what is the cost for 100g wool?

    • October 2, 2015 1:28 pm

We currently have chunky yarn that is a wool mix. It’s £2.99 for 100g but we are just about to get in some Merino Chunky if you would like something with more wool in it.
