Hand Painted Loveliness
It’s not often that a yarn comes into the shop and I have to knit with it immediately but this week we had a delivery of the new yarns from Manos del Uruguay. The colours not only look amazing in a skein but just look so lovely when wound into a ball and knitted up. Each skein is hand painted by the non profit organization which assembles women in co-0peratives throughout Uruguay. The aim of the organisation is to bring economic and social opportunities to rural women and if they can produce such lovely yarn it’s good to know we are supporting such a worth while cause. There is also a very good pattern book to support this yarn which contains 15 projects. Each project takes just one or two skeins so you won’t have to break the bank to experience such a luxury yarn. We have several colours and the patterns available here.
